Dunluce - now ruined medieval castle located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The castle is surrounded by steep cliffs either side, making it almost impregnable in those turbulent times, when the Viking raids and other uninvited guests were commonplace. Richard de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster, built the castle in the early 13th century, inspired not only the landscape, but also strategically convenient location. Around since the beginning of the 14th century Dunluce Castle was the family nest Clan MakKuillanov who, after losing in the late 16th century, two major battles, it gave way to a rival clan Makdonaldsaў. Those happily lived here for almost a hundred years, until the bankrupt, forcing them to sell the castle in 1690. Unfortunately, after the sale of Dunluce Castle was demolished for construction of other buildings.

In 2011, during archaeological excavations have found the remains of the "lost city Dunluce", which was razed to the ground during the Irish Rebellion of 1641. Today the castle is a historical monument and is available for tourists. Adult tour will cost 2 pounds, and for children - 1 pound.
